Holidays

I can't believe the Holidays have already come and gone! I guess I'm mostly just in denial because I don't want them to ever end. It was soooo nice to have Larry out of school for a few weeks and to be able to spend lots of time with family and friends. We spent Christmas at the Prettyman's and we also got to spend a few days with the Clarks too. Here are some highlights in pictures....Me and Kaylynn playing Rock Band at a party with friends from Pharmacy school. The guitar was ok, but I love playing the drums even more! My brothers got it for Christmas too and we played it a bunch while they were here. I even tried singing a couple times, once was a rap song. That was interesting! I'm not a very good singer at all, but it was still way fun. Nate loves the drums too and wanted to play with us. He was actually getting good at it. He loved to hit the "green" ones the best.
One of the guys at the party dressed up as Santa for the kids. Of course Nate was the only one that wanted nothing to do with him.

We went to temple square with the Hesters and saw the Christmas lights. It was so cold, but we still had lots of fun. (I look prego, but I promise I'm not! I had an extra beanie and gloves in my hoodie pocket under my coat)
Christmas was so fun now that Nate is old enough to grasp the concept a little better. This year was all about what Santa was going to bring though, but I hope as he grows older we can teach him better the true meaning of Christmas and why we have it. All the Grandparents spoiled our kids (and us) this year. We really are lucky to have such great families that do so much for us!Nate's favorite gifts were this T-Rex book that teaches all about what makes up a T-Rex (yes, he's still a huge dino fan!), his T-Rex sweatshirt, a remote control train, and his camera. He sure loves to take pictures of everything. Kamry got some clothes and toys and a doll as big as she is. I'm sure she'll grow into it one day!
I had a lot of fun surprising Larry this year. His Dad helped me out...he bought a new fishing pole like Larry wanted (I had no idea what to buy!) and then he found a huge washer box to wrap it in. It was the biggest present in the room! Larry was really surprised and he loved it!
Christmas was really fun but didn't last nearly long enough! We also played lots of games with our families. We played Apples to Apples (which gets so much funnier when it is late at night!) and our new favorite game Settlers of Catan, with the Cities and Knights addition. Larry and I stay up way too late playing this game. We love it!

Settlers of Catan fills up the whole table with four people. We'd have to get a new table if we ever got the extension! We rang in the new year with a sick baby. Kamry caught a bad virus that turned into Bronchiolitis. She couldn't breathe very well, she sounded awful and her cry was so frail and sad. Then she got a fever and a yucky cough before it got better. It was so sad and so scary to have such a tiny baby be so sick. She is doing much better now. She still has a tiny bit of a cough, but she is back to her happy, smiley self again. I love this little dress on her! She looks so cute! Although Kamry is feeling better now, we think Nate is coming down with some of what she had.
It is so sad to have sick kids. Hopefully once they are completely better we will stay "sick free" for a while!
Hope your Holidays were as great as ours were! Now it's back to school and work and life as usual...bummer. Is it just me our do your houses seem empty too with all the Christmas decorations gone?

Oh I am also sad that christmas is over... I just love everything about it. I am sorry Kamry got sick, that is very scary. Abby got RSV last year so we are being very careful this year. With a newborn it is even scarier. Well take care
